At the end of each year, I organize all my Christmas decorations in to perfectly labeled bins, while my stacks of Christmas lights are a disaster. After spending hours putting away the rest of our decorations, inevitably I get too frustrated with the lights and just throw the tangled mess of lights in the bin claiming to deal with it ‘next year’. Fast forward to next year when I’m putting up the Christmas lights. Not…

If there’s one consolation to getting back to work the Monday after Thanksgiving, it’s the amazing online sales. Just when you thought the craziness of Black Friday was over, we invent another ‘holiday’ … Cyber Monday. While I love the excitement of Black Friday (it’s a family tradition that we take to the extreme as evidenced by a table full of newspaper ads 🙂 ), there’s something awesome about getting the same huge discount straight…

This summer I added some fun drawer liners in to pretty much EVERY drawer in our home. When you find something that works, why stop with one, right? Although I love opening all my drawers (bathrooms, kitchen, dresser, nightstand) to see colored drawer liners and plastic organizers, it drove me crazy when those organizers shifted around inside the drawer. Fortunately the fix was pretty quick and easy. Supplies Clear Damage Free Command Strips OR White Damage Free Command…

I was so excited when Joe came to me asking organizing advice. Then I found out what he needed help with. Wine. Yes, I love to drink wine, but I have NO idea how to organize it. By year, type, vineyard, color?? As the wine connoisseur in our family (not that there was much competition), fortunately Joe figured out how to sort the wine in the wine racks. But then he came asking for wine…

Do you have a friend, loved one, or family member who is all about organizing? Or are YOU that person? I’ll admit, I’m not a huge gift giver. Over the years Joe & I have even stopped giving each other Christmas and birthday gifts, mostly because we buy what we know we want throughout the year when we need it (or when it’s on sale 🙂 ). But although Joe & I don’t typically give…

This post was sponsored by Hobby Lobby! A beautifully decorated table is such an easy way to spruce up the home for Christmas. I like to keep ours festive but with more neutral colors that go with our style of our home. Designing a Christmas oriented tablescape allows you to incorporate items you already have in your kitchen with some fun additional decorations. The photo below shows you the items I stocked up on for…

Every year I envision lots of time in between Halloween & Christmas and every year without fail I find myself without ‘enough’ time. It’s not like I lose days each year, but Halloween SEEMS so far away from Christmas. Until it’s not. This year I’m a lot more intentional about how I’m preparing and managing my time through the holidays. It’s a good thing because we decided to host Christmas this year for friends and…

Awkwardly short pants make me cringe. So much so that I can barely look at this photo above. I was cringing the entire time I put on these pants and took the photo. Being tall (5’10”), I’ve forever had a paranoia about my pants being too short. I even started doing my laundry in elementary school just to ensure my parents didn’t accidentally shrink my pants in the wash. (Now that I’m older I’m realizing…
