Make your own painted glass ornaments with this incredibly EASY DIY tutorial! All you need is acrylic paint and clear ornaments!

My favorite time of the year for store magazines mailings is Christmas time. I love love LOVE skimming through the pages checking out all the Christmas tree decorations, claiming “I could totally make this on my own”. That’s typically as far as I get because I know what looks easy in theory will soon become another ‘ Pinterest Fail.’ But I’m here to say that these painted glass ornaments are actually as easy as they look AND they turn out great!

In about 15 minutes (plus 24 hours drying) I had a set of white & glitter painted glass ornaments that complimented my red, pink, white & silver color scheme.

Supplies:

Carefully remove the tops of all the glass ornaments.

Pour a liberal amount of acrylic paint into your glass ornament. Cover the opening with your thumb. Swirl or gently shake so paint is covering the entire inside of the ornaments.

Egg cartons are a perfect ornament holder! Let dry for at least 24 hours.

Place your ornament hanger back on and enjoy!

These ornaments would make great, affordable gifts. They would make fun gift toppers too. You could decorate your garland with them. Or even set in a bowl for a simple centerpiece.

May you never run out of uses for these easy and do-able DIY ornaments!

Not a DIY lover at heart?

Take a look at these fun ornaments (no painting necessary 🙂 )

Make your Christmas tree sparkle with one easy hack! It's easy to do and will make your tree shine & glisten! Merry Christmas!

I love a huge fully decorated Christmas tree, but living in the city we’ve never had the space for one of the big ones! On top of that I never seem to have the right amount of ornaments to fill my tree. Halfway through decorating the tree I realize I’m running out of ornaments so the back half of the tree is completely bare.

In my head my tree always resembles that of the ones I see at Crate & Barrel with the perfect color combination and each ornament placed in the ideal location on the tree. In reality I’m in a hurry pulling out all my decorations throwing them on the tree claiming “next year” I’ll go full on Martha Stewart with Christmas.

The silver lining is that over the years of my Christmas tree mishaps I have come up with several tips & tricks to make my decorations seem more impressive than they really are!

My favorite is adding small mirrors inside the tree to accentuate the Christmas lights making the tree sparkle unbelievably!

Make your Christmas tree sparkle with one easy hack! It's easy to do and will make your tree shine & glisten! Merry Christmas!

Supplies:

  • mini mirrors (I prefer 1 or 2 inch round mirrors)
  • Super glue
  • Ornament hooks

Add a dab of super glue to the backs of two mirrors. Place an ornament hook in between and squeeze closed for at least 30 seconds.

Fill the insides of the tree with these after putting on the lights, but before putting on the ornaments. The sparkle will be tripled! For my tall skinny tree, I used 20 ‘mirror ornaments’.

May your tree sparkle like a department store tree 🙂 !

Turn a bottle of wine into a perfect festive Christmas gift with these printable wine tags!

Spruce up your Hostess gift with these printable wine tags! A great way to add a little pizzazz to your wine in less than 5 minutes!

My gift a choice to give a party host is always a bottle of wine. Not because it’s easy (which it IS), but because it’s practical. I know everyone will use it no matter how predictable. But with the holidays approaching, handing over ANOTHER bottle of wine amongst all the adorable DIY Christmas-y host gifts feels a little weak.

Although I’m standing by my decision to give wine, I’m sprucing it up a bit!

These Festive Christmas Wine Tags will add a little pizzazz to your gift while ensuring your host remembers which bottle you brought! It will also encourage your host to put the bottle aside instead of adding to the party beverage stash.

Spruce up your Hostess gift with these printable wine tags! A great way to add a little pizzazz to your wine in less than 5 minutes!

Simply print out the download on thick white paper (ideally paper stock), cut out along the solid line & fold on the dotted line. I used my craft paper cutting tools, but you can definitely do this with just a scissor.

To grab a copy of your own Christmas Wine Tags, just download it from our Organization Toolkit now!

If you need access to the Organization Toolkit, simply subscribe to the Crazy Organized Newsletter below and the Organization Toolkit password will be sent straight to your inbox!

Don't spend all your hard earned cash on expensive makeup remover .... I promise this recipe is just as good as department store versions!

Don't spend all your hard earned cash on expensive makeup remover .... I promise this recipe is just as good as department store versions!
I love ‘fancy’ (aka expensive) makeup remover. The more I spend, the more I seem to like it. And as much as I’m down for cheap DIY alternatives, never did I think I would make my own makeup remover. I assumed anything I make would either be way too greasy causing my face to break out or not work at all causing me to obsessively rub my eyes. Well, the last two years have proved me wrong, as I’ve been using & loving my own makeup remover daily … and well saved a lot of money.

How much money you ask? After spending 20 minutes and one fabulous spreadsheet later, I determined that my recipe costs $0.35 per ounce. This compared to my favorite Clinique Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Solvent at $19/4.2 ounces is a steal.

Don't spend all your hard earned cash on expensive makeup remover .... I promise this recipe is just as good as department store versions!

That creates a savings of $4.17 PER OUNCE!

With just a few readily available items (especially if you have a baby or toddler round), you can make a batch of these in a jiffy. Under 5 minutes, I promise!

What You Need:

* Optional to make make up remover PADS

To make the makeup remover, first wash out your empty makeup remover container. Then simply mix the water, baby shampoo & baby oil together in to your empty makeup container container. Tada!

Don't spend all your hard earned cash on expensive makeup remover .... I promise this recipe is just as good as department store versions!

To use shake it up right before each use. Pour a little on a cotton pad or balls, or even your fingers to remove the makeup. I prefer cotton cotton pads which I cut into 4 pieces.

If you want to get fancy and make makeup remover pads, combine the water, baby shampoo & baby oil in to a small mason jar. Pour enough solution to cover the bottom of your small mason jar. Add about 10 pads, allowing them to soak up the solution for a couple minutes. Continue adding 10 more pads at a time, pouring enough solution over each set to cover. Seal with lid when finished. (add a cute label and it would make a great gift!)

Hoping your wallet is a little heavier and your makeup comes off a little easier!
