Those cute little baby clothes look so adorable in the store and even cuter the first time you put them on your bundle of joy. But after a couple months of use and well, one too many blowouts and food stains, those once adorable clothes can look like they’ve had years of use. I want to keep all Declan’s clothes looking as ‘new’ as possible to use for a second kiddo eventually.
But, oh man, some of those stains. It’s an ugly sight. I’m in the process of trying to get all Declan’s smaller baby clothes stain free with the help of Persil® ProClean® laundry detergent before storing them away. Here’s how:
Tips to Removing Baby Clothes Stains
As with all products, always test for colorfastness before pretreating. Test the product on a small hidden section of the fabric for color fastness.
1 It goes without saying, try to wash the stains as soon as possible. I have a laundry rule in our house. We ONLY do laundry when Declan has a blowout or food stain. Let’s be honest, this happens regularly. Since I use a high-powered detergent, there’s never any fear of putting one of Declan’s diaper blowout pajamas in the laundry with our nice clothes. It all comes out clean.
2 Pour on enough detergent to cover the stain. There’s no point in pre-treating if you’re not cleaning the ENTIRE stain. Lightly coat the entire area of the stain. Make sure the detergent you’re using is a stain fighting detergent.
We tried out Persil® ProClean® laundry detergent. It’s a great everyday laundry detergent that also tackles those really tough (errr… disgusting) stains.
3 Rub the Persil laundry detergent into the stain and let it sit for 5 minutes before putting it in the wash. This is the important step. Make sure you wait 5 minutes. If you’re like me and are very impatient, setting the timer on your phone may help. It also can help to make sure you don’t forget about your laundry!
Oh, how did we ever make it through the day without our fancy phones?
4 Wash in the warmest water safe for the garment (check your tags for instructions) with Persil laundry detergent. I typically wash most of my clothes in cold water to prevent potential shrinking, but with tough baby clothes stains, I’m more concerned with removing the stain. Persil laundry detergent has a powerful stain fighting combination for a premium clean.
5 Check the results before drying. Repeat if necessary. If you need to repeat, do it immediately. Don’t wait for the garment to dry.
Tada …. baby clothes stains goodbye!

Need to upgrade your laundry cleaning? We tried a trial size of Persil ($1.99 for 10.1-ounce package) from Target®, enough to wash 6 full loads of laundry (lots of stained baby clothes!). It was named “Best New Liquid Laundry Detergent” by Family Circle in 2017.
Love it?! There’s a $2 off coupon found on the back of the bottle for a future purchase (excludes 6 load or less trial / travel size).
