It’s a catch 22. I want to store EVERYTHING in my purse, but I want to have to carry NOTHING. After having 1 (well 10) too many things in my purse, I’ve finally ‘downsized’ and organized with a system that’s been working for years. My secret is that every item in my purse goes in to some sort of pouch, even my snacks! Gone are the days of searching aimlessly through my purse hoping to pull up the one item I’m looking for.
Here’s everything in my purse:
Toiletries
Like many of us rushing from work, appointments and social activities, I want to make sure I can go from morning to evening with everything in my purse. My toiletry bag becomes essential. That includes a nail file, chapstick, a couple Band-Aids, pony tail holders, mini floss, lip gloss, stain remover, hand sanitizer, & a face wipe. While I don’t always use each item on a regular basis (although I’m probably pretty close to using my stain remover daily… oppps!), it’s reassuring to know that these items are there if I need them.
Snacks
While we’re talking about essentials, I ALWAYS carry a snack or two with me throughout the day. There’s no way I can make it through a busy day without a pick me up. I like to keep my snacks in a pouch as well. Once I’m finished it even doubles as a temporary place to put my wrappers meaning no crumbs at the bottom of my purse 🙂 .
These Weight Watchers Light String Cheese are a perfect size snack for me AND my pouch. I love the idea of having a healthy snack with me at all times (hello 2pm snack craving!!). At only 50 calories a stick, I grab a couple to snack on throughout the day. It’s a delicious way to get my calcium and satisfy that mid day craving. Grab yours at Meijer and take their No Strings Attached Challenge! If you don’t love the taste, receive a full refund … going on now through 9/17.
Gift Cards
I have a perpetual fear of loosing all my gift cards. Just the thought of hundreds of dollars of “free money” to my favorite stores gone is enough motivation to keep these organized. On a day to day basis I do NOT store all my gift cards in my purse. Instead these go in a cubby in my entry way closet. I take these with me in this cute business card holder when I do a big shopping/errands trip, not necessarily at the specific store that I have a gift card to, but a shopping trip in general. Sure enough I’m bound to go to one of the stores that I have a gift card to while out and about running errands.
Sunglasses & Iphone
I’m quite obsessed with my newest find, technically sunglass holders, but I also use one for my iphone & headphones. Not only is it perfect storage for these items, but the fabric doubles as a quick cleaning cloth. Before my phone would get so dirty at the bottom of my purse (with all the crumbs from my snacks!). These drawstring pouches have mage a HUGE difference!
When I’m grabbing something in my purse I go straight to the pouch it belongs! Now I need to work on getting more of those gift cards 🙂 .
My purse always ends up being a mess!
Love the pouch idea for your phone and earbuds… I have been trying to do little bags too. Great idea for quick transition when going on vacation too.
Yes, it would be great for vacations! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I loved this post, one of my favorites to view! The pouch for snacks is genius, I will definitely be using this tip! Thanks for sharing =)
xoxo,
Aww thanks dear!
That’s so cool! I love the idea of everything having their own pouches. I only do that with my toiletries though, and my makeup. Everything else I kind of put in the pockets of my bag or so on and so forth. xx
Aww thanks hun!
Love how neat and organized everything in your purse is. Mine’s basically the same but I feel like everyone else just keeps throwing in random bits and pieces 😀
Love, Kerstin
Thanks so much! I don’t have the problem of anyone throwing items in my purse fortunately!!
Wow! I need to do this so bad. My purse is always overflowing with items, although, I have to admit, you wouldn’t get me to get rid of my book. I always have a book with me and don’t plan on changing that anytime soon. Lol. Love the bag idea. So smart. Sharing!
