Use our downloadable basektball bingo printable game cards for your next big playoffs party! Great entertainment for all your guests - basketball twist on a favorite game!

I LOVE hosting parties. ANY parties. And tis the season for basketball, so that’s how we’re going to party. Although admittedly a game day party wouldn’t at the top of my list. But since we end up inviting neighbors to stop by for big games, I wanted to make it a little bit more festive than the typical beer & pizza style gathering.

Swapping out the standard orange décor and heavy appetizers, we went with more of a light brunch theme with a fun wine cocktail. The gals who came to watch the game definitely appreciated it. Being on the west coast and the Pacific Time Zone we can literally watch basketball first thing in the morning with our pajamas, so brunch was a perfect theme. (Yes, I reluctantly changed out of my pajamas 😊)

Not only did I whip up a fun wine cocktail (scroll down for the recipe) and a light brunch spread, we threw in a basketball version of Bingo to keep everyone entertained. Aka – keep ME entertained when watching basketball. Joe knows I’m losing interest when I start scrolling through Facebook during sporting events. Ops.

Here’s how we played Basketball Bingo

Print out the Bingo printable template which includes 8 DIFFERENT Bingo card boards to accommodate lots of guests! (You can print out a couple copies for multiple games)

Each guest picks a team from the game we’re watching. So for all the squares on the Bingo card, the team they chose has to complete those actions. This made the game more exciting and kept it going a little longer. Plus, you can double the amount of people who can play (8 different boards x 2 teams = up to 16 people can play if you print out two copies of the template)

To get the competitive juices flowing, everyone contributes one dollar into the pot before the game started. Whoever gets Bingo first gets ½ of the pot. The second Bingo winner gets ¼ of the pot (which is half of the remaining pot) and the 3rd Bingo winner gets the final ¼ (the remaining money in the pot).

As traditional Bingo goes …. The first person to get 5 in a row wins!

Now let’s not forget about the beverages!

Frontera has created some amazing cocktails featuring their wines. I selected the Chardonnay recipe to serve for our party, but honestly, these all looked good!

Frontera Wines Game Day Sweepstakes

Frontera has an awesome sweepstakes going on right now to win a 55” HD flat screen TV! Check out the details here, show your spirit for sports and you could be watching next year’s playoffs on a new huge TV!

Delicious Chardonnay cocktail that's great for any occasion! Perfect for a basketball party with our bingo printable game cards!

We made this delicious Frontera Chardonnay Al Fresco. An extra bonus is that instead of just having one beverage to serve our guests we technically had two – wine and a wine cocktail. Frontera wines are great to serve for parties like this or to pair with game day recipes.

Serves 1 (Multiple recipe by number of guests you’re serving)

Make these fun DIY wine tag organizers to keep your wine stash organized. You'll now be able to quickly find the wine you're looking for!

I was so excited when Joe came to me asking organizing advice. Then I found out what he needed help with. Wine. Yes, I love to drink wine, but I have NO idea how to organize it. By year, type, vineyard, color?? As the wine connoisseur in our family (not that there was much competition), fortunately Joe figured out how to sort the wine in the wine racks. But he needed wine tags, essentially labels for each wine bottle. THAT I can do. I was born to make labels. And these are pretty easy. Here’s how:

Supplies

Instructions

Print out the Printable Label sheet and using either scissors or your paper cutter, cut out each wine tag. Then cut out the circle in the middle with either scissors or a 1 1/2 inch hole punch.

Once your tags are made (easy right?), you’ll need to label them. There’s the Lindsay Method and the Joe method.

Lindsay’s Method:

Top of tag = price

Bottom of tag = type of wine

Pen color = type of wine (red for reds, orange and yellows for whites, pinks for rose, silver for champagnes)

Joe’s Method:

Alright, for those of you with a little bit more sophisticated in your wine collection skills, here’s Joe’s version of labeling:

Top of tag = year (This could either be the year it was made OR the year you want to drink it. Just decide which method you’ll use and stay consistent with all bottles)

Bottom of tag = Vineyard & Type

Pen color = Any 🙂

It’s no mystery that being a mom is a tough job, but I don’t think I ever really appreciated all that they do. It took me getting our new puppy, Reagan, to START to understand what my mom went through raising me. Yes, I realize that raising a dog isn’t the same as raising a child, but if it’s ANYTHING like raising a child, my mom deserves a drink!

Speaking of a drink …. JaM Cellars is a great easy-to-love everyday California wine, because moms know that wine could be needed every day 🙂 . Follow JaM Cellars on Facebook and Instagram for daily wine-spiration, just when you need it the most!

I thought puppies were supposed to be easier than kids! Being a mommy to a puppy has made me drink for ten different reasons.

Here’s my top 10 ways raising a puppy can be like raising a child

Potty training | Now I know it takes longer for kids to become potty trained, but, hey, at least there’s diapers. Before Reagan was pooping outside, she preferred to go on only our expensive rugs. Heaven forbid she poop on the cheap ones I was about to replace. I guess I should appreciate her good taste?

Kids hiding things from the parents | Just like parents of teenagers, nothing gets past puppy parents. No Reagan can’t lie to us directly to our face, but her body language says it all. It’s amazing how she’d inadvertently lead me right to the poop in the corner of the kitchen or the chewed up scrap booking supplies in my closet (I cried for days over that one).

Kids not appreciating all the nice things their mom buys for them | Reagan definitely didn’t appreciate the not one, but two, different beds that we bought her. Or maybe she appreciated them too much, because she likely digested half of them.

I thought puppies were supposed to be easier than kids! Being a mommy to a puppy has made me drink for ten different reasons.

Worrying about the foods you’re feeding your child We had Reagan on a very special and overpriced diet that included cooked rice and pumpkin. It got to the point that I realized I was spending more time making Reagan’s food than Joe’s. Too bad for Joe because EVERYONE in the family then started eating rice for dinner!

If you’re nodding your head right now, you deserve a drink! Grab a glass (or two … no judgement here) of JaM Cellars Butter Chardonnay. It lives up to the name!

Kids growing out of their clothes before they even wear them | The picture below was Reagan’s winter coat that she only wore two times before she outgrew it. Why on earth are dog clothes SO expensive? I know what you’re thinking. You’re one of those owners who puts clothes on your dogs. In my defense, dobermans are very sensitive to both hot and cold weather, which brings me to …..

Panicking over the littlest things | Like the time we thought Reagan was drastically dehydrated. We even tried to get her to drink water using an eye dropper. Apparently after a $1,000 trip to the emergency room we found out that she just wasn’t thirsty. Expensive lesson.

Babies sleeping in the master bedroom | For the first month Reagan’s cage was in our bedroom so that we could watch over her. We even rearranged the lamps in our room to ensure just the right amount of evening light so that she wouldn’t be scared of the dark. Having her in the bedroom also meant that we couldn’t even get up to use the bathroom at night for fear of waking her up. Because waking her meant …..

Crying | I know I know baby crying isn’t like dog wining, but ahhhhh. Puppy wining is pretty awful. We would even put water bottles with hot water inside wrapped in a sock in to her cage at night. It was supposed to mimic the feeling of sleeping next to her brothers and sisters. What did we learn? Apparently she didn’t like sleeping next to her siblings.

Sleepless nights | I would often hear from coworkers about their lack of sleep the previous night because their little one kept them up all night. Let’s just say that my coworkers didn’t seem to have the same sympathy when I would tell them the same story with my puppy.

I thought puppies were supposed to be easier than kids! Being a mommy to a puppy has made me drink for ten different reasons.

This is to all the puppy moms who found themselves with a glass of wine!

And to all the moms of children, YOU definitely deserve a drink 🙂 .
