One of my favorite things about planning parties is not the extravagant meals (if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you knew that I’d never be cooking a fancy meal 🙂 ), but instead finding fun, easy, yet unexpected touches to add to the event. That’s ONE of the reasons I love this water balloon solution to keeping your beverages cool. Who would expect to see colorful frozen water balloons amongst their beverages? Another perk? No more melted ice in the coolers or in your drinks.
Yet one more reason? These are so incredibly easy to make. Simply fill up regular balloons 1/4 of the way full with water. I’ve heard that actual water balloons are NOT a great option as they’re not as strong so stick with regular balloons.
Then toss them in the fridge for at least a couple hours. Don’t worry, NONE of mine broke. I set all the watered balloons next to each other in a section within my freezer. Then when the party was about to get started, I removed from the freezer and placed in a cooler.
This is a perfect way to continue your party color theme OR to simply add a pop of color to a party!
Ideal for those hot summer days when all your want is a cool drink!

This is such a cute idea! Much more festive and fun than ice cubes. I may have to do this for Monday with some red, white, and blue balloons. Thanks for the great idea!
